Netting Whitefish on the Rupert River

In 2006 a group of Keewaydin Temagami staff and I went down the Rupert River to James Bay.  Smokey Hill Rapids is the last stop before Waskaganish.  While we were there some of the locals came by to show us their whitefish fishing techniques.  They served us fish and showed us how to cook bannock on a stick over the fire.
